Last Remake of Beau Geste (The Fort)

Below are some screen shots of the Foreign Legion fort used in the movie “The Last Remake of Beau Geste”.  Not the best quality pictures but you can still see that the fort was just as goofy as the movie was.  I noticed that the crenelation of this fort (the gaps along the top of the walls) open outward instead of inward.  Maybe this was intentional as a spoof of the previous Beau Geste movies.  Not sure what a hobbyist might get from looking at these other than to know not to look to this movie for inspiration in making one’s own fort.  You will notice also one shot of the fort made out of sand.  This was trampled by the attacking Bedouins horses two second later.  I recently watched the movie and thought it was pretty bad.  It had some comedic moments (I’ll grant that) but it was often just painful at times to watch.  I was looking forward to seeing the fort but, as you can see, it is pretty disappointing.  There were only a couple of camera angles used which makes me wonder if they had only half a fort build on the film lot.  The tower looks similar to the tower in the 1966 version of Beau Geste (the one with Telly Savalas). I’ll look into that in another post.  So, since I have nothing better to post today, here it is.
