Legion Pulp: The Whip

I haven’t posted any pulp fiction in a while so I thought I would slip this in early today.  This story is an example of why I think the French Foreign Legion is a fertile ground for a variety of different exotic plots and subplots for fiction writing but also for Role Playing games or colonial type war game adventures.   In this short story the antagonists are members of a secret organization seeking the overthrow of their king (dictator of some generic eastern European kingdom).  The assassin fails in his mission and flees to the Legion to avoid the kings agents as well as his former agents of “The Whip”.  But his past eventually catches up to him.  The author, Robert Carse, was a prolific writer of pulp fiction and wrote several other Foreign Legion stories.  Enjoy.
