France’s Foreign Legion

132

I always enjoy finding some obscure article buried in some more obscure and seldom read periodical.  Such is the case with this nice piece I discovered on Hathi Trust Digital Library.  This short three page spread appeared in the Life of the Soldier and the Airman (v.13 no.21) published in 1931.   It covers the usual facts about the Foreign Legion with a particular emphasis on recruitment and food.  It also has some nice photo’s (above) from this period showing the barracks and legionnaires training.
