Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and happy New Year to all the readers and followers of this blog.

Joyeux Noël et bonne année.

Frohe Weihnachten und ein glückliches neues Jahr.

Nothing sounds better than the carol Silent Night sung in German.  …unless of course it is sung in German by the French Foreign Legion.

Hello Jack, Thanks for all the interesting Legion stuff on this blog throughout the year. Hope you had a happy Christmas too,\. I actually think that 30th April (Camerone Day) probably means a lot more to legionnaires than 25th December. The evening with BESSIE’S BOIL went off very well. The audience loved it. Odd that you should mention Tex Ritter. What did he have to do with the Captain Gallant series? I remember him as a singing cowboy who grew so bulky that his horse was loth to let him mount. He was a great singer of western movie-songs. I was a fan of the B Westerns ( Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Bill Elliot, Hopalong Cassidy, Charles Starret and many more from the 1950’s). I must still get into Capt Gallant when this silly season is over. It has been a hectic time. Eugene

      villou,

The “CAR” as we called it in the US Army is nasty. Any place that has a disease called “monkey pox” or “la variole du singe” cannot be good. I hope your peacekeepers are home soon.
