Military Illustrated: The Legion at Camerone, 1863

Here’s a very interesting article on the Foreign Legion at Camerone by the expert publishers at Military Illustrated Past and Present Magazine (No. 22).  It was written by Louis Delperier, a French author who has written extensively on the French military and their uniforms throughout history including for several Osprey Men-at-Arms books.  The 9-page article focuses on the French incursion into Mexico in the 1860’s, covers the battle of Camerone then provides much information on the French and Legion uniforms worn at the time.  It’s well illustrated and a great reference for painting miniatures.  Full magazine here
